Turkish Airlines signed an agreement with famous actor and director Kevin Costner to film a new commercial for the company.

American Academy Award-winning director will be the star of THY’s new commercial that will promote three new Boeing 777-300ERs that has been leased from Indian airline company Jet Airways. Costner is expected to arrive in Istanbul this week to film the commercial. The commercial, which will be made at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, will promote first class cabins in THY aircrafts. There are eight first class cabins in each of the new planes, which offer passengers complete privacy and suite-style comfort.



Kevin Costner who recently started his music career came to Istanbul in 2007 and gave a concert at WOW Convention Center.



First THY First Class Passenger

First Turkish Airlines passenger become the 35 years old tourism professional Nihat Genç. Mr. Genç used his 180 thousand miles instead of paying TL12,500. Genç has been taken from his home with a special Mercedes car and welcomed by Prime Class hostesses at Istanbul Ataturk Airport. Genç has taken to the plane in mini golf cart and got onboard the aircraft. Genç also passed security control without waiting at the queue.


THY has scheduled first class flights from Istanbul to Singapore and expects to introduce service to Hong Kong, London, New York and Tokyo soon. Tickets are 5,744 euros for Istanbul-Singapore, 5,682 euros for Hong Kong and 2,354 euros for London. The first-class seats are 2.1 meters in length, leaning a full 180 degrees. THY offers its first class customers flat-bed seats over long-distance flights in its Boeing 777-300ERs.
